Job Description

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc has an immediate opening for an Operations Engineer.  In this position, you would be a key part of the Global New Product Introduction team.  A successful Operations Engineer in the NPI team will work closely with the engineering project leader to manage the project timeline for new product launches and lead the development of sustainable manufacturing and supply chain strategies for new products to achieve lifecycle success.


Contributions & Responsibilities:

As an Operations Engineer in the NPI team you will:

  • Be responsible for delivery of new products and coordination of production to meet customer needs
  • Analyze/track standard cost and drive conformance to cost goals
  • Generate/manage NPI project timelines for the launch of new products, and drive adherence to the timeline, elevating any item that are off-track
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Product management and other departments during the new product development process.
  • Give upper management periodic updates on progress, and be held accountable for results
  • Own Bill of Material structure for new product families to optimize cost and process flexibility
  • Drive Destination Facility analysis and consensus with upper management
  • Drive new product development process improvements and standardization for the organization

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline with at least a 3.0 GPA
• Flexibility - Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities

• Self-motivated with high amount of personal energy and a passion for excellence

• Willingness and ability to travel.  Travel to remote locations is likely and may be with short notice.
