Job Description

Electronics Technicians at Lutron work in a hands-on environment as members of cross-functional engineering teams – supporting the development of new products.  They work closely with some of the best engineers in the industry and can be involved in the product development process from initial concept, through the development, testing, manufacturing, and support phases.  Project work involves:

  • Extensive design verification testing of analog and digital circuits

  • Software testing including user interfaces and communication protocols

  • Hardware and software prototyping

  • Providing support for alpha and beta programs (product deployment, installation, and feedback efforts)

  • Troubleshooting software, hardware, and network issues

  • Assisting in transitioning designs from engineering into manufacturing

  • Directly supporting end customers

     As part of their career development, our technicians gain exposure to the broad range of technologies employed in our products.  Some of these technologies include:  Power electronics, analog and digital electronics, wired and wireless communication, software test automation, Ethernet communication, and embedded micro-controllers.  A mentoring program, tuition reimbursement, along with continued learning through “Lutron University” enhances the professional and intellectual advancement of our technicians.



  • 2 or 4 year Electronics or equivalent Degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher

  • 0-5 years experience as an electronics technician

  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of electricity and basic wiring

  • Comfortable working directly with customers

  • Hands-on experience working with electronics preferred

  • Strong interest in testing, design, and troubleshooting

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
