Electrical Design Engineering Leader

The Electrical Design Engineering Leader position allows you to have direct hands-on impact on products that will ship globally and will change the way people experience the world around them. The Engineering Leader will have ownership over all aspects of electrical design from beginning to end and learn how to deliver world class products. A successful candidate will be curious and passionate and motivated to build great things. Tinkerers are highly desired. As a Design Leader, you will have ability to architect and design next generation Ketra products and to help mentor and coach younger engineers.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop world class analog and digital circuits for lighting & control systems
  • Validate designs at system level including hardware and software integration
  • Manage new product introduction from concept through mass production
  • Work closely with other electronics, mechanical, software, and firmware development teams to produce systems with world-class performance and quality
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers and elevate the overall electrical engineer function at Ketra

 

Skills & qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • A GPA of 3.3 or above is required
  • Experience design power electronics or sensitive analog circuits
  • Experience designing for RF environments and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work with cross-functional team both in Austin and across the country
  • Willingness to take initiative and solve problems in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to quickly and thoroughly debug circuits and solve complex system problems
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed to deliver upon objectives
  • Excellent organization, communication, follow-through and execution
  • Experience with behavioral modeling and Python / Matlab
  • Experience with PCB layout is required
  • Experience with C/C++/C# programming and ARM microprocessor architecture is a positive
  • Experience with IC-level design is a positive
  • 10+ years of progressive job experience is required
