A successful Technical Support Representative will be the face of Lutron for technical inquiries.  In this position you will develop technical expertise regarding Lutron products and leverage your service skills to help our customers maximize their user epxerience.  You will use your creative problem solving skills to resolve issues and meet or exceed customer expectations on a daily basis.


  • Represent Lutron with a professional, upbeat attitude according to our Five Principles, particularly TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER.
  • Develop a technical understanding of Lutron products, systems, and services
  • Support our customers by providing necessary information on our stand-alone and system level products via phone and email in a timely and professional manner
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose user issues regarding Lutron products and systems
  • Document problems and solutions in a central database, escalate customer questions when necessary
  • Communicate effectively with other areas of the company to meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Take on special projects as necessary to meet or exceed the goals of our technical support team

  • Either:
    • Earned a 2-year Electronics Engineering Technology (EET), Computer Engineering Technology (CIT), Information Technology (IT) or similar degree, with a GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Earned a 4-year Business or Liberal Arts degree, with a GPA of 3.0 or above 
    • Over 10-years of trade experience in electrical contracting, HVAC installation, telecom/cable installation, security installation, or A/V installation
  • Work experience in a customer facing position preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office required
  • Experience troubleshooting via phone or email, a plus
  • Electrical installation experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • French / Spanish written and verbal communication skills, a plus
  • Experience working with a team to solve problems or achieve a goal
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, when necessary, given Lutron's 24-hour support requirements.
