Staff Accountant

Join Lutron’s accounting team and you will be responsible for significant components of our business:

  • Manage the financial information for several Lutron manufacturing sites, Lutron-owned international subsidiaries, or corporate functional areas.
  • Handle the complete accounting for your assigned area(s)
  • Provide financial information so that the best business decisions can be made
  • Create management reports, reconcile financial statements, and handle other requests for both internal and external (taxing and legal authorities) customers
  • Pursue your CPA or MBA while getting hands-on experience

A Day in the Life of a Staff Accountant:

8:00am   –  Prepare day’s agenda, check and respond to emails

8:30am   –  Work at desk: account reconciliation, run financial statements for offshore accounting firm, book a journal entry to accrue monthly recurring expenses

9:00am   –  Analyze financial statement variances to budget in prep of the meeting

9:30am   –  Lead a meeting with operations and supply chain team reviewing this month’s financials

10:30am –  Run an ad hoc report on G&A expenses for the Finance Director

12:00pm –  Go for a run / walk on the rail trail then pick up lunch at Lutron Cafe

1:00pm   –  Regularly scheduled conference call with Mexico manufacturing plant regarding cost estimates

2:30pm   –  Stop by and work with accounts payable to resolve billing issue

3:30pm   –  Team meeting to prep for end of month reporting

4:30pm   –  Work on external audit tasks

6:00pm   –  Meet up with coworkers for a volleyball game

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Accounting from an accredited institution with at least a 3.2 GPA
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Pay attention to the details, but not get hung up on them
  • Enjoy working in teams and possess outstanding communication skills
  • Have a history of making an impact on organizations
  • Interest in pursuing a CPA or MBA preferred
