Sales Engineer - Italy

 

Lutron LDV has an immediate opening for a sales engineer.  In this position, you would be a key part of the sales team.  A successful sales engineer will ….     

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of sales plan in order to achieve the Company’s revenue and profit objectives

  • Drive sales of all Lutron businesses in the geography. This will include selling through multiple channels (Electrical distributors, lighting show rooms, retail, specialty dealers, etc.) to Specifiers (Architects, Interior Designers, Lighting Designers, Electrical Engineers, Commercial Developers and Builders), Contractors and to a customer base that includes high end residential and commercial building applications (new construction, remodelling, retrofit and technological upgrades.

  • Facilitate the preparation of quotations supporting the process of bid production and submission within the business and finalize contractual and commercial negotiations.

  • Develop stronger and more extensive relationships with existing client base

  • Maintain a watch on competitors so that the company retains a comprehensive knowledge of competitor products and their positioning and plans to enable the Company to maintain its market leading position.

  • Drive and usage of Salesforce.com to track opportunity pipeline and activities.

  • Providing monthly sales forecasts and market input, and achieving customer satisfaction through effective running of accounts and implementation of Salesforce.com

  • Managing commercial issues to drive Company growth in line with overall objectives such as evaluation of sales contracts to ensure appropriate levels of benefit and risk to the Company

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified - ideally in an engineering or in a science discipline and MBA would be beneficial
  • Business fluency in English.Additional European languages a plus (French, Spanish).

     

    Experience:

  • Proven sales experience in selling high value lighting control and energy saving systems;

  • Experience of selling complex solutions at senior levels within the customer's organization.

  • Experience in developing and growing business through various channels and specifiers

  • Has current high level contacts and relationships with electrical distributors, dealers and specifiers

  • Experience selling solutions comprising consulting, implementation and training services

  • Experience with channel analysis and growth strategy

  • Stable career history

  • Experienced at building return on investment cases with customers.

  • Knowledge & skills

  • Has substantial knowledge in selling and business development capacity within the lighting & lighting control system market in Italy.

  • Up to date knowledge of current big spend projects with contacts

  • Related knowledge of the energy system market would be a distinct bonus, but not a pre requisite

  • Understand the Tendering process and ability to manage the creation of technical and commercial bid proposals

  • Able to successfully negotiate all aspects of a proposal through to contract award and to manage multiple sales opportunities of varying complexity.

  • Able to focusing on building markets and new opportunities rather than chasing orders based upon price

  • Expertise in developing sales and marketing plans including promotions, merchandising, packaging and logistics.

  • Personal attributes:

  • Highly disciplined approach to organizing one's activities and priorities.
