Construction Design Development Program:
Our Construction Design Development Program is a dynamic rotational training program designed to prepare talented college graduates for a career in construction management and design supporting Lutron’s numerous award-winning products and systems for the lighting control and automated shade industry. You will be directly involved and accountable for supporting Lutron’s business goals, partnering with architects, engineering firms, general contractors, electrical contractors and our sales teams.
The first 8 weeks of training are carefully constructed to instruct and guide you on the intricate commercial construction process. The program consists of in classroom training, on-line training and off-site design initiatives working on cutting edge projects with external customers.
As a Construction Design Development participant, you will actively learn how the construction process works from initial design through to owner turnover and ongoing service contracts. You will develop your knowledge of construction contracting approaches and procedures as they relate to large scale commercial lighting and shades projects. You will understand the project design intent, budget applications and scheduling requirements. Working with Lutron’s internal teams, you will obtain the necessary skills to develop and read construction drawings and specifications of lighting controls and shade designs.

Other leadership programs at Lutron are the Innovation Leadership program, Field Service Development Program and the Sales Leadership Development Program. These programs work collaborative with the Construction Design Development Team to build strategic alliances early on in your career.
The Construction Design Development Team seeks successful candidates with technical skills and the desire and ability to make things happen in a fast paced work environment. A BS or BA in Architecture, Architecture Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical and/or Engineering is preferred. AutoCAD or Revit experience is a plus with at least a 3.0 GPA.
