Position Summary

The LSC Training Specialist is a skilled and engaged member of the Lutron Services Company inside operations team. This person will be responsible for developing/maintaining a training standard and ensuring the sustainability of the program. This role works closely with Field Service Area Leaders, Territory Leaders, and Technicians to provide training to the Field Engineers on all Lutron commercial systems.  Customers, such as Facility Managers and End-Users, will also interact with the Training Specialist via instructor-led training.  This role will require cross-functional team leadership/interaction with Integrated Systems, Service Sales, Engineering, IT, Tech Support, Lutron University, LCI, and the SSE Team.  This position is a technical role which allows for interaction on many high-profile projects, product review and development, and contributing to the career growth of fellow Lutron employees.   

Role Responsibilities

This role is responsible for:

  • Assist managing the domestic and international training program

  • Develop, write and review training materials and manuals as necessary with the assistance of a 3rd Party Technical Writer

  • Develop and review training videos with the assistance of a 3rd Party Instructional Designer

  • Ensure new training materials are disseminated to the field as needed

  • Build Strong relationships in LSC Operations, Field Service, Engineering, Integrated Systems, Systems Sales, IT, Lutron University and the Lutron Lighting Control Institute.

  • Support TLs, ALs, FSEs, and ASCs in all training related items

  • Support, interact and contribute to the Field Service Development Program, ensuring proper technical training for new hires

  • Work with ASC Manager to ensure proper LCI enrollment, accurate qualifications, correct SupportWiki Access, and LCI profile approvals

  • Attend Engineering meetings (Core Design Review, Engineering 8D, Quality, etc.) to ensure that Field Service Training needs/requirements are being met

  • Build expertise in training development and delivery

  • Assist with managing the “Rotational Trainer” program

  • Work with IT to ensure proper Active Directory “roles” for new hires and ASCs

  • Manage the timely coordination with Engineering, Field Service and Subject Matter Experts for the training material content and delivery development.

  • Ensure training is organized and coordinated into the overall operational plan

  • Work with the Area Training Facilitators in order to ensure training timelines and quality standards are met.

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in a technical field

    OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience at Lutron

  • Must have a proven service mindset

  • Prior training experience preferred but not necessary

  • Lutron commercial product knowledge, preferably Quantum experience.

  • Prior Engineering experience is preferred but not necessary
