Construction Design Estimator

This position offers a great opportunity to work closely with our sales team, representatives, outside field service team, construction management, and end users.  In this role you will provide support to sales and service teams who are focused on system upgrade/retrofit business and the software upgrade process.  Support is technical in nature and also consists of driving leads, and assisting in suggesting system/product solutions and supporting pre-sale documentation.  This position also requires lead and opportunity tracking and sales forecasting activities as well as ensuring software upgrades go smoothly & profitability

Specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Evaluate and pre-qualify legacy systems and leads for upgrade
  • Manage campaigns with outbound callers generating leads
  • Manage leads with sales teams and representatives
  • Develop relationships with network of Lutron representatives and sales teams which will result in long term growth of business
  • Quoting and project management of software upgrades
  • Engineering coordination for long term success of software upgrade initiatives

The successful candidate must enjoy working with a wide range of areas in the company.  Problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast moving environment are imperative.  The position requires interfacing with multiple software tools; so strong computer skills are a must.  Previous commercial systems knowledge and project management skills are helpful.

Requirements:

  • A 4 or 2 year degree in an industry related field, or equivalent experience
  • Technical aptitude required
  • A minimum of 2 years of electrical system installation and design experience is preferred 
  • Hands-on knowledge of building electrical wiring and control system installation is preferred
  • Ability to multitask across a variety of projects working with multiple internal and external  stakeholders
  • Knowledge of installation strategies for occupied buildings, as it relates to installation and start-up techniques and schedules, etc., is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to pursue National Security Clearance
